The documentation describes the different features and functionalities
that the CSTEP Business Opportunity Identifier offer. First,
functionality related to the user is described and secondly, the
features of the tool itself will be described. The different
descriptions should guide the user towards a easy and joyful
experience.
User Functionality
Following sections describe basic functionality of a user on the
website. This include many common functionalities that most website
implement. The navigation bar in the top of your screen allows you
to navigate on the website. Please note that on small devices the
navigation bar will collapse into a small menu icon.
Register user
Access by:
Go to Register user
How to:

Enter your email and a desired password of minimum 8 characters
- Click 'Register'

If successful, your user is now created and you have access to the
full website
Note: If any error occurs, a pop-up message will inform you of why
your request was not successful.
Log in
Access by:
Go to Login
How to:
- Enter your email and password
- Click 'Login'

If successful, you are now logged in and will be transfered to
your 'My Projects' page.
Note: If any error occurs, a pop-up message will inform you of why
your request was not successful.
Log out
Only available if you are logged in.
How to:

Click 'Logout' in the top-right corner in the navigation bar

If successful, you are now logged out and will be transfered to
the 'Welcome' page where you can log in.
Forgot password
Access by:
Go to Forgot Password
- Enter your email
- Click 'Reset password'

If the entered email is valid, you will be transfered to the login
screen and an email with a reset link will be sent to your email
if it exist. Please remember to check your spam folder if the
email is not in your inbox.

Click the reset link, which will transfer you to the website. If
the email is in your spam folder, the link is not clickable. To
solve this, copy the link to the url in your browser or right
click the email and mark it as not spam, which will transfer the
email to your inbox from where the link is now clickable.
- Enter a new password and confirm it by entering it again
- Click 'Change password

If successful, you are transfered to the 'Welcome' page from where
you can login with your email and new password.
Change password
Only available if you are logged in.
How to:

Click 'My Profile' in the top of your screen in the navigation bar
- Enter a new password and confirm it by entering it again
- Click 'Change password' to submit the change.

If successful, a pop-up message will confirm the password has been
changed.
Tool Functionality
All following functionality is only available if you are logged in.
Prerequisites
Before applying this website as a tool for helping to identify
business opportunities, you must identify and specify your business
ecosystem. A publication
(Ma, Christensen, & Jørgensen, 2021)
on how to do this explains the field of business ecosystem
architecture development.
Once you have identified and specified your business ecosystem the
Ecosystem Map Generator
can help you visualize and document it, from which you will be able
to generate an excel file will all details necessary to begin with
identifying business opportunities within this business ecosystem.
Add project
From the 'My Projects' page you are able to create new projects and
find all your projects.
The idea is that a project can be generated for each different
ecosystem for which you want to idenfify business opportunities.
How to:
- Click '+ Add new project'.

In the pop-up box, enter a name and description for your project.
- Click 'Save' to submit.

If successful, the pop-up box will close and your project is added
to the list of your projects.

From this point, you can open the project by clicking 'Go to
project' on the project you wish to open.
Delete project
How to:
-
From the 'My Project' page, click the little trash can on the
project you wish to delete.
-
In the pop-up box click 'Delete project' if you are sure you want
to delete the selected project.

The project is now deleted and is not visible from your 'My
Project' page anymore.
Project Workflow
Once you have created a project and opened it, you will access the
'Project' page. From here, you will find five blue bars that you can
unfold or fold. Within each bar lies a guideline to the different
steps that follow the CSTEP driven business opportunity
identification method LINK!!!
Following sections will describe the functionality included in each
step:
- PRE-STEP
Add ecosystem element
How to:
- Click 'Add row' in the right side of your screen
- Fill in ecosystem element details

Click the 'check mark' icon to submit the entered ecosystem
element details

An ecosystem element has now been added to the list of ecosystem
elements related to this project
Edit ecosystem element
How to:
- Click the 'pencil icon' in the right side of your screen.
- Edit the content you wish to change.
- Click the 'check mark' icon to submit your changes.
Delete ecosystem element
How to:
-
Click the 'trash can' icon in the right side of your screen.
- The selected ecosystem element is now deleted.
Save ecosystem
How to:
-
Ensure your ecosystem is complete and that no ecosystem element
is in edit mode (should display the 'pencil icon')
- Click the 'Save' button in the middle of your screen.

Your details from PRE-STEP is now saved and the input for the
next table in STEP 1 is generated.
- STEP 1
Once the PRE-STEP is completed and you have saved your ecosystem,
you can proceed with STEP 1.
Based on your ecosystem, the
table in STEP 1 is preconfigured to contain your ecossytem
elements which are displayed with their given 'Agent name'.
Enter STEP 1 details
How to:
- Click the 'Edit' button in the row you want to edit.

Fill in the condition details. Note that all conditions must
begin with a dash "-" as it is used for recognition and
separation.
Example:
- - Condition one..
- - Condition two etc.
- When done editing, click the 'Done' button
Save STEP 1 details
How to:
-
Ensure your table is complete and that no row is in edit mode
(should display 'Edit' button).
- Click the 'Save' button.

Your details from STEP 1 are now saved and the input for the
next table in STEP 2 is generated.
- STEP 2
Once STEP 1 is completed and you have saved your ecosystem
condition details, you can proceed with STEP 2.
Based on
previous step, the table in STEP 2 is preconfigured to contain all
conditions entered in previous.
These are displayed in the
'Current ecosystem condition' column.
Enter STEP 2 details
How to:
- Click the 'Edit' button in the row you want to edit.
- Fill in the details.
- When done editing, click the 'Done' button
Save STEP 2 details
How to:

Ensure your table is complete and that no row is in edit mode
(should display 'Edit' button).
- Click the 'Save' button.

Your details from STEP 2 are now saved and the input for the
next table in STEP 3 is generated.
- STEP 3
Once STEP 2 is completed and you have saved your ecosystem
condition details, you can proceed with STEP 3.
Based on
previous step, the table in STEP 3 is preconfigured to contain all
identified solutions for each ecosystem condition from previous
table.
These are displayed in the 'Identified solutions'
column.
Enter STEP 3 details
How to:
- Click the 'Edit' button in the row you want to edit.

Fill in the details. Note that scores must be between 1-3.
- When done editing, click the 'Done' button
Save STEP 3 details
How to:

Ensure your table is complete and that no row is in edit mode
(should display 'Edit' button).
- Click the 'Save' button.

Your details from STEP 3 are now saved and the input for STEP 4
is generated.
- STEP 4
The CSTEP Business Opportunity Identifier process is coming to an
end.
In this step you get the opportunity to generate an
excel file containing a summary of all previous tables.
Generate Excel output file
How to:
- Ensure all previous steps have been completed.
- Click the 'Download Results' button.

An Excel file is generated and automatically downloaded through your
browser.

The Excel file can be opened by clicking the file in the
bottom-left corner of your browser or by locating the file, likely to be placed in the 'Downloads' folder, on your computer.
